Domestic abuse support for LGBT women in Lewisham, Greenwich and Merton

We are working with the charity Housing 4 Women to offer these services:

  • Confidential, non-judgemental support from a caseworker or IDVA
  • Emotional support and practical advocacy, risk assessment and safety planning
  • Help to weigh up your options and manage any risks you are facing in a safe space
  • Referral for multi-agency support (police, housing, benefits, health, counselling and other services)
  • Attendance and support at court hearings and meetings with other agencies
  • Referral to peer support groups and domestic abuse awareness groups

 

What we offer

  • Free, confidential, non-judgemental support from a named caseworker (LGBT IDVA)
  • Help to weigh up your options and manage any risks you are facing in a safe space
  • Referral for multi-agency support (police, housing, benefits, health, counselling and other services)
  • Assistance accessing legal advice and representation, for example to obtain injunctions
  • Attendance and support at court hearings and meetings with other agencies
  • Emotional support and practical advocacy, risk assessment and safety planning
  • Referral and signposting to other METRO services

Peer support group

We run a peer support group for LGBT Women every Tuesday at Woolwich Equitable from 1pm-2.30pm. Please contact nerys@metrocharity.org.uk or catriona@metrocharity.org.uk for details.

Professional training

We provide LGBT DV awareness training to professional organisations within the London boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham and Merton. Please contact nerys@metrocharity.org.uk for more information.
